Administration and Planning
Marilyn provides leadership and direction to the Office of Administration and Planning and support to the president. She manages strategic planning, program review, institutional research, Board of Trustees support efforts, and executive level searches, as well as other various programs and initiatives. She has held this position since July 1985.

Katie provides leadership for business pertaining to the Board of Trustees, its committees, and the University community. In her role, Katie works closely with Vice President Marilyn McCoy and units across the institution to plan and facilitate Board of Trustees meetings that advance Northwestern’s strategic priorities. In addition, Katie oversees the office’s business processes. Prior to joining the Office of Administration and Planning in 2008, she was a student at Northwestern University and captain of the Women’s Golf Team. Katie has an MS in Higher Education Administration and Policy and a BS in Communication Studies from Northwestern University.
Marcela directly supports the Board of Trustees and leads the office’s conservation initiatives. Prior to joining Administration and Planning in November 2013, Marcela owned and operated a bed and breakfast in Medellin, Colombia.Sara directly supports the Board of Trustees. Prior to joining Administration and Planning in September 2016, she worked in the Department of Neurobiology at Northwestern. Sara received her BA in Sociology and English from University of Illinois at Chicago and MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University.
Institutional ResearchAmit leads Institutional Research efforts to collect, integrate, and analyze institutional and external data to support institutional decision-making, planning, and policy development. Before joining the Office of Administration and Planning, he was the Managing Director, Planning and Administration, at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern and helped develop infrastructure to advance the school’s thought leadership initiatives and to measure progress against the school’s strategic plan. Amit has previously held roles in the healthcare sector at Northwestern Memorial Hospital ranging from administrator for the Division of Hospital Medicine to process improvement leader and in the manufacturing sector while leading continuous improvement activities at Saturn Corporation and RR Donnelley. Amit received his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and his Master of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University.
Debbie directly supports the Assistant Vice President of Information and Analytics and the Associate Provost for University Enrollment on a variety of activities, including data collection, reporting, and analysis for both internal and external use. Prior to joining Administration and Planning in December 2004, Debbie served as Assistant Director of Cost Studies in the Office of the Controller for five years.
Paul supports the Assistant Vice President of Information and Analytics in a variety of functions, including working with data from university enterprise systems, collecting and interpreting data from internal and external sources for reporting to Senior Administrators and the Board of Trustees, and serving as the webmaster for the Institutional Research webpage. Prior to joining Administration and Planning in September 2007, Paul served as the Coordinator of Research Programs in the Office for Sponsored Research.
Jason directly supports the Assistant Vice President for Information & Analytics and the Assistant Vice President of Program Review on a variety of activities, including data collection and reporting for both internal and external use. Prior to joining Administration and Planning in April 2015, Jason served as Research Analyst/Report Associate in the Office of the Registrar for five years. Jason completed a Bachelor’s degree in Organization Behavior and a Master’s degree in Information Systems from Northwestern University.
Anahit supports the Assistant Vice President for Information and Analytics by leading efforts to advance University-wide faculty nominations for prestigious national honors and awards. She is a PhD Candidate in political science at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also received her MA and BA in political science. She is a lecturer at Lake Forest College, teaching courses in comparative politics and international relations. Her work on urbanization and tourism is published in the edited volume Cities, Sagebrush, and Solitude: Urbanization and Cultural Conflict in the Great Basin (University of Nevada Press, 2015), and her work on refugee policy in Europe is published in the Journal of Military and Political Sociology (2018).
Kristi is responsible for leading unit-level strategic planning efforts and supporting cross-unit strategic planning initiatives. Prior to her current role, she was Senior Associate Director in the Office of Global Strategy and Initiatives (GSI) and the Halle Institute for Global Learning at Emory University. In that role, she provided leadership for the implementation of Emory's global strategies and was the lead manager for the office. Kristi had been part of the Emory community since 2002 when she joined the Emory College of Arts & Sciences’ Center for International Programs Abroad (CIPA), working closely with Emory students and faculty regarding semester and summer study abroad opportunities. Prior to Emory, she held positions in the study abroad office at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC and with the department of student services at the American InterContinental University in London, England. She holds a bachelor's degree in English from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX and a master’s degree in student personnel services from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.
Reporting to the Vice President for Administration and Planning, Megan leads the Program Review process and is responsible for the execution of reviews. Prior to joining Administration and Planning, she worked for Deloitte Consulting, where she advised companies on change management and communications related to mergers, technology adoptions and other organization transformations. Megan previously worked in the Office of Administration and Planning from 2006-2010, supporting key functions including Program Review. Megan has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a BA in History from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University.As the Senior Program Administrator for Program Review, Katy directly supports the Associate Vice President of Program Review by assisting with orientation, coordinating data presentation with units and Information and Analytics, and managing the status of review materials. Katy received her Master's degree in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern and her Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Jordan directly supports the Associate Vice President of Program Review with the Program Review visits, program scheduling, and department finances. Prior to joining Administration and Planning, Jordan served as the Program Manager for the Kellogg Board Fellows Program, which matches 100 Kellogg MBA students with nonprofits across Chicago for board service training and pro-bono consulting. In this role, Jordan managed the program’s relationship with the nonprofit partners, as well as all programming and day-to-day operations. Prior to Northwestern, Jordan held positions at Arizona State University and at Pearson. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master’s degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University.
